The Big Feedback Conversation (Malaysia Campus)
April 1, 2020 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Venue: East Wing, Seminar Room 7
The Big Feedback Conversation will bring students and staff together to discuss ways of making the most of feedback on assessment. Events across Heriot Watt’s global campuses will provide opportunities for members of the University community to share their experiences, and to talk about how to maximise the value of feedback. Participants will have the opportunity to give their views about a new set of resources, designed jointly by students and staff, intended to give practical advice about how to ensure feedback makes a difference.
Feedback on assessment is important to both students and staff. For students, it is crucial for helping them to understand how they’re doing and how to improve. For staff, it takes up a lot of time and energy, and can be challenging to fit into busy schedules. It is therefore vital that feedback leads to improvements in students’ work. As part of the implementation of this year’s Student Partnership Agreement, the Student Union and the University are jointly developing some resources to help students and staff to maximise the impact of feedback. The Big Feedback Conversation will invite students and staff to give their views about these resources, and to engage in constructive discussion about the value of feedback, the impact of feedback, and the best ways of making sure it makes a difference.
This events will be of interest to the following people:
- Students and staff who want to give their views about how students can be supported to act on feedback
- Students who want to get more ideas about how to use feedback
